Returning to the Water, Steps to Ammoudi Bay

Steps to Amoudi

The Poet’s Secret is in so many ways inspired by the water.  Returning down the steps to Ammoudi Bay, Santorini for a swim, a dive and some inspiration.

  1. Hey Ken,
I’ve picked this picture as my favorite of your Blog Five. This would evoke emotion even we didn’t know what it meant to you. This could be about anything, this could trigger a hundred stories. It looks ancient and modern at the same time. Cool.
And–all the pics are wonderful and evocative. I like the flippers too :-)

Thanks Lizbeth. You nailed it. That walk is so powerful (and long) and the spectacular expanse of blue water invites you to take each and every step.

Great pics, Ken. This is my favorite. The stairs are so Greek, all you need is a donkey. Sounds like inspiration was everywhere. Very cool.

Thanks Shea. They actually have donkeys around later in the day for those who don’t want to trek back up in the heat. (I walked it anyway). It’s a long but spectacular climb both ways.

  4. Wow I can see from the pictures how you can be inspired. I look forward to walking those steps some day soon.
